Holiday stays in rural France

Welcome to Chenevaux

Emma and Ian would like to welcome you to Chenevaux, a 300 year old former hamlet surrounded by bucolic Vienne countyside.  Relax with your family and friends at this pretty cottage with private garden & outdoor charcoal barbecue and dining area, nestled within their 3 hectare property in the middle of nature.  Take a refreshing dip in the heated swimming pool on hot summer days or cosy up on the comfy sofa with a log fire on cool autumn evenings.  Take advantage of this unspoiled environment without light pollution.  On clear nights after dark, grab a blanket and settle down to immerse yourself in the universe and observe awe-inspiring planets and constellations.  If you're lucky you may catch a glimpse of a shooting star!

Meet your hosts

Hosts at Chenevaux Emma & Ian

Hello, we're your hosts Emma and Ian, and we've lived in France along with our son Elliot since 2021.  After touring France in our motorhome for several years, we fell in love with the Vienne region and found our dream home here at Chenevaux.  We're English and currently learning to speak French.  I'm a passionate and dedicated host who enjoys creating a restful retreat for our guests.  Our love for gardening enhances the peaceful atmosphere, making it a perfect place for guests to unwind and relax.

Ian and I are available to assist our guests at any time.  If you need to get in touch with us, simply send us a message or knock on the farmhouse door.  We know each guest is unique and looking for something different. Some may want total seclusion so we give guests the privacy they desire although we're sociable people and are equally happy to chat over a cup of coffee or bottle of wine should guests wish.

Chenevaux Gite

From the 2 car gravel parking area, follow the path through the private garden to the front door.  Upon entry, you'll see an open plan lounge to the right, with dining and kitchen areas and log burner to the left.  The gite has been sympathetically renovated and the farmhouse aesthetic is evident throughout the gite, with exposed oak beams that beautifully highlight the building's rustic charm.  The staircase will be in front of you which leads to the upper level.  The shower room which has an enclosed shower, wash basin and toilet is located at the top of the stairs.  To the left, is the larger of the 2 bedrooms with a 150cm bed, dressing table, bedside tables with lamps, clothes hanging space and 2 armchairs.  Across the landing is the second bedroom which has a double bed, a single bed, bedside tables with lamps and clothes hanging area.
